She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto and a Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health from Durham College.

Growing up in the Greater Toronto Area, Arooj has been immersed in diverse communities and has actively engaged in programs that support equity-deserving populations while promoting inclusion and social justice. She continues to stay informed on emerging policies and best practices in the field, ensuring her work remains responsive and impactful.

By combining her academic background with extensive administrative and operational skills, Arooj is dedicated to supporting the governance of Across Boundaries and strengthening its mission to deliver equitable, holistic mental health and addiction services for racialized communities.
